The Saudi Arabian Lubricating Oil Company was formed in 1968 by a Royal decree. The joint venture was between Saudi Aramco holding 71 equity and Mobil Investments with remaining 29. The company was renamed as the Saudi Arabian Lubricating Oil Company in 1997 after Petromins shares in the company were transferred to Saudi Aramco. The first plant in Jeddah was designed to blend 70000 M. tonnes today the plant has doubled in size to blend 150000 M. tonnes or 1 million bbls annually. Petromin new manufacturing plant in Saudi Aramco industrial zone in Jeddah is designed to produce 250000 metric tons of lube oils annually and is setting new standards in the Region which will be commissioned by end of 2010
